Country Guesthouse Schonegg compliments the region's attractions - providing warm hospitality and stylish B & B accommodation. We have a passion for fine food and would love to share it with you.

Since the B & B opened in 2003 Schonegg has established a reputation for excellence, receiving multiple tourism awards and industry accreditation. Schonegg recently won the 2006 Canberra and Region Tourism Awards for Visitor Experience and Hosted Accommodation and represented the region in the national finals.

Indulge in innovative dishes - Real, fresh food with flair

Our seasonal menus feature produce from our gardens and local suppliers including Kiah free range eggs, La Barre olive oil and Art of Espresso coffee. Richard has worked at the May Fair Intercontinental Hotel in London, the first class Princess Grill on the QEII and in the Intercontinental Hotel, Geneva.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation

  • Six rooms each with flexible configurations, Schonegg can accommodate up to 14 people.
  • NRMA Touring Services 4 & 1/2 star rating, air-conditioned guest rooms.
  • Tourism Industry Council Accreditation.
  • Winner of the regional Hosted Accommodation tourism award in 2004 and 2006, winner of the regional Visitor Experience tourism award in 2005 and 2006.
  • DINNER, BED AND BREAKFAST packages are our specialty. Richard is a qualified chef with 23 years of international hospitality experience. Our two-course dinner menu costs $ 44.00 per person, the three-course menu is $ 52.50.
  • FANTASY MENUS. Let Richard and Evelyn bring your food fantasy to life. Perhaps crayfish, caviar, quail, pheasant or emu? Prices from $65.00 per person.
  • INDULGENCE PACKAGE - For a little 'something extra' we recommend our Indulgence Package. In your room you will discover a bottle of sparkling wine on ice, handmade chocolates, scented candles, the softest bathrobes and fresh-cut flowers for you to take home. The Indulgence Package costs $ 70.00 per room.

  • Enjoy innovative dishes produced fresh with flair by your hosts, Evelyn and Richard, both talented chefs.
  • Regional Produce. As members of the Canberra Slow Food Convivium, we take our produce seriously. Our seasonal menus feature produce from our gardens and local suppliers.
  • Quality measts. We are great fans of Galloway beef - local studs Honeypot Farm and Minto Stud produci beef to our specifications and the wonderful team at Harden Butchery produce our sausages using our secret recipes.
  • We are happy to cater for any dietary restrictions, please let us know.
  • BYO venue. Visit the great local wineries only minutes away.

    Gift vouchers for both the cafe and bed & breakfast are available. Vouchers are personalised, printed in full colour and can be posted to the recipient directly if required.
